A driver was taken into custody last night after being found with illicit drugs. The incident occurred while the driver and three passengers were parked at a restaurant in Kinoya when police approached them.
Officers from the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU) utilized a K-9 unit to conduct a search of the vehicle, which indicated the presence of illicit substances. During the search, authorities discovered three zip-lock bags containing a white substance suspected to be methamphetamine, located under the car’s doormat on the left side of the back seat.
The driver remains in police custody as the investigation is ongoing.
