Fiji National University has announced a collaboration with Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for its 2024 Open Day, themed “Dream It, Weave It, Achieve It.”
Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba expressed her excitement about this partnership, emphasizing that participants will have the opportunity to meet members of the Fijian Drua team, who embody the values of hard work and determination.
“The Drua players consistently demonstrate that with diligence, teamwork, and perseverance, no challenge is insurmountable. They motivate Fijians of all ages to chase their dreams and confront difficulties directly,” she stated.
Professor Nabobo-Baba pointed out that both FNU and the Fijian Drua aim to nurture local talent and promote excellence. “Similar to how the Drua integrate their skills to succeed in rugby, FNU combines knowledge, skills, and opportunities to help our students reach their greatest potential,” she remarked.
The Open Day will include interactions with players such as Philip Baselala, Simione Kuruvoli, and Vani Arei, the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s Player of the Year, who will share their experiences.
Additionally, Fijian Drua’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Evans and Strength and Conditioning Coach Naca Cawanibuka will address attendees on October 4.
