Veteran defender Ame Votoniu scored a critical equalizer in the second half, leading Nadi to a 1-1 draw against Labasa in their Digicel Fiji Premier League Round 15 match at Prince Charles Park. Labasa started strong, taking an early lead in the second minute with a goal from Solomon Islands import Tigi Molea.

Despite several opportunities, young players Apolosi Seru and Siotame Kubu failed to capitalize on scoring chances for Nadi, while Labasa’s Christopher Wasasala, Melvin Mani, and Akeimi Ralulu were thwarted multiple times by goalkeeper Joela Biuvanua.

Labasa held onto their 1-0 lead at halftime, but Nadi gained momentum in the final stages of the game. Captain William Valentine initiated an attacking play that allowed Votoniu to rise above the defense and head the ball into the net, leveling the score.

Following the match, Labasa stands in second place with 29 points from 15 matches, while Nadi is in fifth place with 22 points.
