“Dr Sung Jin Lee’s Legal Team Files for Her Removal from Prison Due to Inhumane Conditions”

An application to release Dr Sung Jin Lee from detention was filed in the Lautoka High Court by her lawyers yesterday. Dr Lee, associated with Grace Road, is currently detained in prison. Her lawyer, Rajesh Gordon, has claimed that she is being kept in extremely unsuitable conditions, as the prison’s toilet facilities are not adequate and she’s forced to use a bucket. He went on to argue that as Dr Lee is an immigration detainee, she should not be held in a prison facility but rather in a safehouse or hotel, which they are willing to cover the cost for. The case will next be heard on July 8.
