A three-member tribunal is set to convene today and continue through the week to examine allegations of misconduct against suspended Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde. The tribunal is led by Justice Anare Tuilevuka, with Justice Samuela Qica and Justice Chaitanya Lakshman serving as members.

Last week, Pryde communicated with Justice Tuilevuka, expressing his inability to attend the tribunal hearings. In his correspondence, he raised concerns regarding the fairness of the proceedings, highlighting that he feels deprived of the necessary resources to mount an adequate defense.

The hearings are scheduled to commence at 9 am each day this week.

This situation presents an opportunity for the legal system to demonstrate its commitment to justice and fairness. The tribunal’s proceedings may shed light on the transparent handling of such serious allegations while allowing for a thorough examination of the facts involved. As the hearings unfold, there remains hope for a resolution that upholds the principles of justice for all parties involved.
