Adi Cakobau School (ACS) and Suva Grammar School (SGS) have both been declared co-champions of the Under-19 girls’ division at the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championship held in Lautoka. The championship match was interrupted for 20 minutes in the final quarter due to heavy rain, which made the court too slippery to continue. At the time of the delay, ACS was ahead with a score of 21-18 and seven minutes left on the clock. After considering player safety, the event organizers made the decision to name both teams as joint winners.
In the boys’ category, Marist Brothers High School triumphed over Yat Sen Secondary School, winning the Under-19 boys’ title with a close score of 28-24. This victory marks a significant achievement for Marist Brothers as they take home the trophy to Kaunikuila.
