Labasa forward Rusiate Doidoi has been called up to join the Fiji National Football Team for the upcoming MSG Prime Minister’s Cup in the Solomon Islands. He is stepping in for Mosese Nabose of Tailevu Naitasiri, who has had to withdraw due to work commitments.
The Bula Boys, under the guidance of coach Marika Rodu, have been in training camp since Sunday and are set to leave for the Solomon Islands tomorrow. Coach Rodu expressed confidence in the team’s strength and resilience, noting that Doidoi’s addition is a boost to their offensive capabilities.
The MSG Cup serves as an important platform for teams from the Melanesian Spearhead Group, fostering regional talent and unity among the nations. Fiji’s schedule includes an opening match against Vanuatu on Thursday, December 8, at 2 PM, followed by a game against Papua New Guinea on Sunday, December 15, at 5 PM. The team will also face the Solomon Islands Development team on Wednesday, December 18, at 7 PM, before concluding the group stage with a match against the Solomon Islands on Saturday, December 21, at 7 PM.
