Mesake Turuva from Natabua High School achieved an impressive victory in the Senior Boys 400 metre race at the Coca-Cola Games. He was overcome with joy and disbelief upon crossing the finish line, attributing his win to divine intervention. Turuva expressed that his success was the result of two and a half months of preparation, through which he encountered significant challenges but found strength in his determination and faith.
“I didn’t believe it, but God’s plan is different from my plan. I gave it my all in the last 150 metres, and it was the guts that won the race,” he stated, highlighting the importance of hard work and the support of his family and teammates.
Turuva’s victory is a continuation of Natabua High School’s strong athletic performance, echoing their recent successes in various competitions, including the Lautoka/Yasawa Zone championships.
