The Minister of Agriculture and Waterways, Vatimi Rayalu, has issued a strong warning to those within the People’s Alliance Party who may be considering leaving or starting their own party. He stated that anyone contemplating such actions should depart immediately, emphasizing that “we don’t need you, and neither does Fiji.”

Rayalu’s comments follow Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s announcement that he has been informed of a faction within the party, including members of the Cabinet, that plans to split and form a new party in 2026.

“I stand firmly with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and The People’s Alliance Party,” Rayalu asserted. He made it clear that the party does not tolerate division, disloyalty, or personal agendas.

“For anyone thinking of jumping ship or forming their own party, leave now!” he declared. “We’re not here by coincidence. We are here because Fijians made sacrifices and came out in large numbers during the 2022 General Election to vote for change. We are that change. The people chose us, and we are here to stay.”

Rayalu expressed his commitment to serving the people of Fiji and vowed not to be hindered by rumors or self-serving plots. “If you don’t respect the voters who put their trust in us, don’t expect us to respect you,” he stated, reiterating that the focus is on the future of Fiji and that the People’s Alliance Party is dedicated to building a better nation for all Fijians.

“We’re moving forward without you, stronger than ever,” he concluded.
