A total of 36 teams have registered to compete in the inaugural season of the New World IGA Suva Netball Association’s business house mixed netball competition, which commenced yesterday at the National Netball Center in Laucala. With the tournament planned to last six weeks, it allows players significant time to immerse themselves in this exciting venture.
Raijieli Rabitu, the association’s secretary, highlighted that the main goal of the competition is to foster enjoyment, create networking opportunities, and encourage a healthy lifestyle through netball. She expressed her enthusiasm about the growth in team participation compared to last year, viewing it as a promising sign for the association’s future.
Rabitu urged the teams to embrace this chance to unite and enjoy themselves, emphasizing, “This is a great after-work exercise that will improve workers’ health, relieve stress, and allow for fun.” The league is designed not only as a platform for engaging in a beloved sport but also as a venue for building relationships among players while prioritizing their well-being.
This initiative appears to align well with the Suva Netball Association’s overall objectives of promoting physical health and community engagement, similar to their successful partnerships with various sponsors in the past like Newworld IGA. Such collaborations have proven vital for the development of netball in the region, and the increased participation this season highlights a collective effort to strengthen community ties through sport.
Overall, the competition serves as a beacon of hope for promoting health and interaction among business teams, reinforcing the positive impact of sporting activities in our daily lives.
