Fijian Under-20 openside flanker Sam Chapman emphasizes that discipline will be crucial for his team as they aim to make an impact at this year’s Oceania Rugby Under-20 Championship. As a returning player from last year’s squad, Chapman highlights the importance of focus and attention to detail, both on and off the field, particularly for the new coach and team members.

“This is about ensuring discipline within the group, focusing on the little roles we all play,” Chapman stated. He noted that the team is younger than previous selections, which presents a unique opportunity for growth and development. The former Otago High School student, who has family ties to Qarani Village in Gau, believes this younger group is eager to learn and make the most of their chances under the guidance of experienced coaches.

Chapman expressed optimism regarding their prospects in the tournament, asserting, “Fiji produces the best players in the world, and we are ready to challenge our opponents.” His positive outlook is bolstered by the potential for the team to showcase their talent and resilience in the competition.

This focus on discipline and teamwork reflects a hopeful approach to the championship, suggesting that the combination of youth and experience could lead to promising results for Fiji in the tournament.
