Shally Jannif, the CEO of Digicel Pacific Regional HUB Markets, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for supporting local projects that foster sustainable development. “By investing in these community-driven projects, we are contributing to a future where all Fijians can thrive,” Ms. Jannif remarked, highlighting the importance of celebrating 16 years of presence in Fiji by enhancing the lives of those in the communities it serves.

The awarded projects include:

1. **Sustainable Solar Energy for Mokani Village (East)** – This initiative aims to install solar-powered systems to provide clean energy for essential facilities, ensuring safer pathways and communal spaces for residents, particularly benefiting women and children.

2. **Nadroga/Navosa Resource Centre (West)** – Spearheaded by the Soqosoqo Vakamarama, this project will create a permanent resource center to facilitate income-generating activities like a cafeteria and traditional crafts.

3. **Karoko Solar Streetlights (North)** – This initiative will see the installation of solar-powered streetlights in Karoko Village, enhancing safety and showcasing the potential of renewable energy.

Community leaders are optimistic about the positive impact of these projects. Josefa Matagasau from Karoko Village echoed these sentiments, expressing excitement about the transformative power of renewable energy for their community.

This commitment not only promises immediate benefits but also sows the seeds for long-term improvements in the quality of life for many Fijians.

In an era where sustainable development is crucial, Digicel Fiji’s initiative stands out as a beacon of hope and progress, empowering communities to take charge of their energy needs and livelihoods.
