Diaper Deliveries: A Boost for Fiji’s Farming Community

Spread the love

An initiative spearheaded by the Bring A Smile Foundation, FANCA, and The Federation of the Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ) has successfully delivered 5,000 diapers to the Sugar Cane Growers Fund and Sugar Cane Growers Council for distribution to the cane farming community.

FANCA organizing committee chairman Iqbal Ismail highlighted that this assistance represents just a portion of a broader diaper assistance program. “We have 96,000 diapers that we will be distributing throughout Fiji,” Ismail explained. He also noted that they are working in collaboration with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to extend this support further.

Ismail shared that there is a comprehensive list of NGOs collaborating on this initiative, including the Sanatan Society, Fiji Muslim League, and the Methodist Church, among others. “We aim to support everyone, and this initiative has been undertaken with that goal in mind,” he added.

This effort brings hope and much-needed relief to the cane farming community, exemplifying the power of collaboration among different organizations dedicated to helping those in need. By joining forces, they are not only distributing essential supplies but also fostering a spirit of community and support throughout Fiji.

In summary, the initiative illustrates a generous collective response to the needs of local farmers, and with the distribution of more diapers planned, the impact on families in the community is likely to be significant.
