Adi Akisi Ravoka is resolute in her quest for further education to realize her dreams. The 28-year-old from Drauniivi Village in Ra celebrated a significant achievement yesterday, graduating with a Certificate in Automotive Mechanical Engineering from the Pacific Polytech Campus in Tagitagi, Tavua, among 130 graduates from the technical and vocational institution.
As a mother of three, Ms. Ravoka currently works as an attache at the Yaqara Pastoral Company in Tavua. Reflecting on her accomplishment, the former Vatukaloko Secondary School student described this qualification as a crucial stepping stone toward a brighter future. Ms. Ravoka expressed her enduring ambition: “While growing up, I always wanted to become a teacher, but I faced obstacles and challenges along the way. I did not give up on my dream.”
She emphasized that her education has opened up new opportunities, stating, “The skills and knowledge I have gained here will allow me to contribute meaningfully to any workplace.” Looking ahead, she expressed her aspirations: “I will continue to seek opportunities to further my studies in this program, envisioning myself teaching automotive engineering at an institution like this and making a real impact on my future students.”
In her journey, Ms. Ravoka has faced challenges, including the difficulty of balancing work, family responsibilities, and financial constraints. “Managing my time with children, work, and studies was challenging. Sometimes I missed classes because of financial difficulties, but I never gave up,” she shared. She attributes her success to her faith, her grandmother, and her three children. She proudly stated, “I thank God and dedicate this achievement to my grandmother and my children.”
Ms. Ravoka also has a powerful message for other single mothers: “Do not let your current circumstances define your future. There is a bright future ahead for you and your children. Never give up on your dreams.”
