The village of Levuka on Lakeba Island is urgently appealing for government intervention to build a seawall, as rising sea levels increasingly threaten the community. With over 110 villagers backing this request, Village Headman Jope Nui has highlighted the dire situation, stating that seawater is intruding daily during high tides, endangering both residents and essential infrastructure.
