Dr. Luke Ravula, the Sub-divisional Medical Officer for Lakeba, highlighted that stagnant water is a breeding ground for the Aedes mosquitoes responsible for transmitting the disease, particularly following recent rainfall.
Preventive measures suggested by Dr. Ravula include the removal of water-holding containers such as buckets, old tires, and discarded plant pots.
