Qenika Ravula has turned his challenges into triumph, showcasing the power of faith and determination at a recent graduation ceremony. Amidst the Pacific Polytech graduation held at the Kshatriya Hall in Labasa, Mr. Ravula proudly received his National Certificate in Electrical Fitter Mechanic Level Three, becoming one of the 51 graduates in attendance.
At just 20 years old, Mr. Ravula, the fourth of seven siblings from Vuinaqalutu Village in Dreketi, Macuata, has fought against the adversity of kyphosis—a spinal disorder he has endured for over a decade. His journey to graduation was emotional, as he expressed gratitude to his family and the community during his speech. With tears in his eyes, he acknowledged the support that paved his way to this accomplishment.
Throughout his educational journey, Mr. Ravula attended the Naleba Youth Training Centre in Labasa after completing Year 12 at Ahmadiyya Muslim College, where he pursued a Certificate in Agriculture. He is the first in his family to earn a trade certificate in electrical fitting, breaking new ground for his siblings who are still in school and his family who rely on the support of the Social Welfare Department.
His mother, who works tirelessly by planting root crops to sustain the family, has always inspired him to persevere. Mr. Ravula applied for the five-month course under the Tertiary Education and Loan Scheme, and his success reflects his steadfast motivation.
In his message to the youth, Mr. Ravula is a beacon of hope, urging them to seek strength from faith rather than succumb to negative influences. He emphasizes that hard work and trust in God are vital for overcoming life’s challenges.
