Long jump veteran Eugene Volmer has expressed admiration for fellow athlete Deborah Bulai, who is actively fundraising to secure essential sporting equipment for athletes preparing for national duties. Bulai, a Pacific Games gold medalist, is not only a distinguished competitor but also serves as a coach at Bullet Academy United.
Volmer highlighted Bulai’s initiative as a testament to her character and profound love for athletics. He noted that it is rare for athletes to take such proactive steps in supporting their peers and praised Bulai for her dedication to uplifting fellow athletes.
“I think it’s a great thing, what she’s doing, going out of her way to try to fundraise. It’s uplifting to see an athlete doing what they can to help other athletes,” Volmer remarked.
In his support for Bulai’s efforts, Volmer is appealing to stakeholders and former national representatives to contribute to this worthy cause. Those interested in making a donation can do so through Bulai’s GoFundMe page, titled “Throwing for the Future: Support Fiji Athletes.”
Bulai’s initiative not only aims to provide crucial resources for aspiring athletes but also sets an inspiring example of community support and collaboration in the sports realm.
