Waisea Luveniyali, a former Fly Fijians fly-half and alumnus of Queen Victoria School, believes that the 2024 Vodafone Super Deans competition has intensified, surpassing the standards of previous years. He remarked, “Overall, I think the Deans competition is competitive; every year presents a step up.”
Luveniyali noted significant upsets in the U18 teams this year and expressed confidence in the Western teams heading into the semi-finals. Cuvu College and Ratu Navula are set to face off against Nasinu Secondary School and Queen Victoria School (QVS) in the upcoming matches.
With high stakes, Luveniyali anticipates that the games will be closely contested. “Crucial decision making and every point is crucial; come Saturday, it’s a do-or-die battle,” he stated. He emphasized that while Cuvu and Ratu Navula are strong contenders, QVS and Nasinu Secondary School should not be underestimated, as they have proven their capabilities throughout the tournament.
