Waisea Luveniyali, a former fly-half for the Flying Fijians and a graduate of Queen Victoria School, believes that the 2024 Vodafone Super Deans competition has reached unprecedented levels of intensity and competitiveness, surpassing previous years.

He stated, “Overall, I think the Deans competition is very competitive; each year raises the bar.” Luveniyali highlighted the surprising outcomes in the U18 teams this year, and as the semi-finals approach, he noted the strong preparation and coaching of the Western teams.

Cuvu College and Ratu Navula will face off against Nasinu Secondary School and Queen Victoria School in the upcoming semi-finals. With high stakes on the line, Luveniyali anticipates that the matches will be decided by very narrow margins.

“Critical decision-making and every point count come Saturday; it’s a do-or-die situation,” he said. “Although Cuvu and Ratu Navula are formidable opponents, we can’t overlook QVS and Nasinu Secondary. They’ve proven that they deserve to be here, and anything can happen.”
