The Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service (TSLS) is urging students to submit their scholarship applications well ahead of the 31 January deadline for the upcoming 2026 academic year. With applications having opened earlier this month, processing began on 5 January 2026.
In a move to streamline the application process, TSLS advises students to apply immediately upon receiving their final offer letters from higher education institutions, emphasizing that provisional offers will not be accepted for evaluation. This clarity in requirements aims to ensure that only eligible candidates are considered.
The scholarship awards are based on academic rankings until the quotas for various schemes are fulfilled, although some may require additional methods of assessment such as interviews or aptitude tests. Students who do not secure their preferred scholarship scheme will still have the opportunity to be considered for alternative options, thereby increasing their chances of receiving financial support for their education.
Applications can be conveniently submitted through the official TSLS online portal. Additionally, students seeking assistance can visit TSLS offices located in Suva, Lautoka, Nadi, and Labasa.
By encouraging early and complete submissions, TSLS aims to enhance the likelihood of applicants being successfully considered for scholarships, providing them with crucial support as they pursue their educational goals. This initiative not only reflects the commitment of TSLS to support students but also fosters a proactive approach among them, paving the way for a brighter academic future.
