The Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship (NCC) 2025 has officially set the stage for an exciting tournament, with pool draws announced yesterday at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa. Anticipation is building as teams prepare to compete for the coveted title.
Defending champions Northpole FC from Labasa will lead Group B, accompanied by Western champions Ray United FC from Lautoka and Rewa’s Combine Verata FC. Meanwhile, Group A consists of Ba’s 4R FC, Nasinu’s Friends United FC, and Suva’s Pacific Specialist Healthcare/Nadera Buses Combine Brothers FC.
Mohammed Yusuf, the CEO of the Fiji Football Federation, is looking forward to the thrilling matches that lie ahead. He noted the competitive nature of the tournament, stating, “We can expect some very exciting matches in the past few days, with teams aiming for the title on Sunday.”
However, some teams may encounter challenges, as several players who have signed with Bula FC will not be available for their upcoming matches due to pre-season preparations. Yusuf acknowledged this impact, saying, “Some of the teams will be slightly affected, as few players from their team who have signed and joined Bula FC will not be participating this week.”
Yusuf also expressed gratitude towards Dayal Sawmillers for their continued support, highlighting a three-year partnership aimed at enhancing the local league and promoting the growth of football at the grassroots level in Fiji.
The NCC final play-offs are set to kick off tomorrow at the Fiji FA Academy Ground, with the top two teams from each pool vying for a place in the final on Sunday. The tournament not only showcases local talent but also emphasizes the commitment to nurturing football in the region, offering hope for an exciting future in the sport.
