Team Fiji swimmer David Young has achieved a new personal best at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Young triumphed in his Men’s 50m freestyle heat with a time of 22.71 seconds.
His previous best was 22.87 seconds, recorded at the 2023 World Aquatic Championships in Japan.
David Young has made the nation proud by setting Fiji’s record in the Men’s 50m freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Coach Willie Elaisa praised Young’s accomplishment, noting that competing with world-class swimmers and finishing first in his heat has been a highlight of their journey.
Young has outlined his future plans following the Olympic Games.
He finished 40th out of 73 swimmers after winning heat 5.
