Daredevil Heist: Man Arrested Trying to Steal $2B in Seized Drugs

A man has been apprehended after illegally climbing a telecommunications tower and scaling a fence to access a secure storage site that holds over $2 billion worth of seized methamphetamine. The incident occurred early yesterday morning when the individual was discovered attempting to tamper with CCTV cameras at the Fiji Police Mobile Force premises, where the drugs are securely stored.

Acting Commissioner of Police Sakeo Raikaci confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are underway to uncover the man’s motives for accessing the site. He highlighted that the drugs, including four tonnes of methamphetamine seized in Nadi, are under heightened security measures to ensure their safety.

Raikaci noted that these security protocols are closely monitored from a Command Centre, bolstered by assistance from the Australian Federal Police. Assistant Commissioner of Police Sakeo Ganivatu emphasized that this incident indicates a potential drug network attempting to infiltrate the secure premises.
