Darcy Graham, a prominent winger, is set to play for Scotland this Sunday after a 13-month hiatus, as he has been named in a seasoned squad for the autumn Test against the FIJI Water Flying Fijians at Murrayfield. Graham has not played since Scotland’s World Cup loss to Ireland in October 2023 but has shown great form in the domestic league, participating in five out of six matches with Edinburgh this season.
The selected squad features players exclusively from Glasgow and Edinburgh, as the match takes place outside of the international window, excluding athletes like Finn Russell, Ben White, and Blair Kinghorn from contention. Leading the team for the first time is Glasgow’s Sione Tiupulotu, following his recent appointment as Captain.
The starting lineup is characterized by numerous Test veterans, with Adam Hastings taking on the fly-half role, Ali Price as scrum-half, and Kyle Rowe at full-back. Rowe, making his seventh international appearance, is the only player with fewer than 10 caps in the starting positions. Tom Jordan, the sole uncapped player on the bench, could be in line to earn his first cap, joined by Edinburgh prop D’Arcy Rae, who has one cap to date.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:40 AM Fiji Time.
This game presents an exciting opportunity for the Scottish team to showcase their depth and experience, especially with Graham’s return. Fans can look forward to a competitive encounter that not only marks a significant moment for Graham but also demonstrates the growth of emerging talents and solid leadership in the squad.
