Students from Daliconi Primary School on Vanua Balavu Island recently had an enriching experience during a school outing following the Fiji Primary School Tuckers Ice-cream Games. The event, which saw 34 students and 10 teachers travel to Suva, proved successful as the students secured one gold medal and two bronze medals in their athletic endeavors.
Maivaga Keteravu, the headteacher and president of the Vanua Balavu Athletics Association, expressed pride in their achievements as they reflected on their trip. After their successful participation in the games, the group took the opportunity to explore Suva, including a visit to The Fiji Times. This stop was part of a broader itinerary that also included visits to the FBC and the State House.
The outing not only allowed the students to celebrate their accomplishments but also provided them with valuable exposure to various local institutions before they returned to their island home. This experience highlights the importance of both academic and extracurricular activities in fostering a well-rounded education for young students.
