CWMH Patients Advised: Don’t Forget Your Water!

Visitors to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) are being urged to bring their own drinking water due to ongoing water supply issues impacting certain areas of the facility. The Ministry of Health has reported that the hospital is currently relying on its reserve water supply to cater to the needs of both patients and staff.

The water shortage stems from low water pressure in the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) supply line, which is caused by increased turbidity in the intake feed water. To support those affected, the Ministry has arranged for bottled drinking water to be distributed within the hospital. Additionally, the hospital’s team is working closely with the WAF to deploy water trucks to refill the hospital’s backup water tank.

This situation highlights the resilience of the hospital staff as they adapt to challenges and ensure patient well-being during this time. As these efforts continue, the hope is that a stable water supply will be restored soon, allowing the hospital to return to regular operations without disruption.
