Cuvu College’s U18 Team Sparks Upset and Eyes Glory!

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focusing on enhancing their performance, particularly in the scrummaging aspect of the game. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this insight following their thrilling 23-22 victory over the favored Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals of the Vodafone Deans Trophy.

Navatu acknowledged that there is still potential for improvement despite the unexpected triumph. He described the match as intense and expressed gratitude for the win, stating, “Glory to God for this win. We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”

He also noted a mix-up regarding the final score when officials initially declared RKS as the winner, but their decision was later overturned, much to the team’s relief. “The job is not done yet,” Navatu remarked, highlighting some players’ ages, with a mix of17 and 18-year-olds, who rose to the occasion.

In anticipation of their semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday, Navatu is urging their loyal supporters to come out and rally behind the team.
