The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their skills, particularly in scrummaging. This information was shared by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu.
Despite their narrow 23-22 victory over the heavily favored Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals of the Vodafone Deans Trophy, Navatu emphasized that there is still potential for improvement.
In a conversation with reporters, he described the match as intense and expressed gratitude for the victory. “We came here with the goal to win, and we achieved that. Credit goes to the boys for their excellent performance,” he stated.
Navatu also mentioned that there was some confusion over the final score, as officials initially declared RKS the winners. He expressed relief when the decision was corrected, but noted that their journey is not complete. “Some of our boys are still 17 while others are 18, yet they managed to pull together for this win,” he added.
He urged their loyal fans to come out and support the team in their semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School, scheduled for Saturday.
