Cuvu College’s U18 Rugby Team Surges to Victory Amid Scrums Challenge

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is actively seeking to enhance their performance, particularly in scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this information with SUNsports.

Despite their impressive 23-22 upset victory over heavyweights Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals of the Vodafone Deans Trophy, Navatu acknowledged that there is still potential for improvement. He described the match as a challenging contest.

“Glory to God for this win,” Navatu expressed. “We came here with the goal to win and we achieved that. Credit goes to the boys for their excellent effort.”

Navatu also mentioned there was some confusion regarding the final score after officials initially declared RKS the winner. “We were pleased when the decision was amended, but our mission is not complete yet. Some of our players are still 17, while others have just turned 18, but they worked well together,” he said.

He urged their dedicated supporters to come out in full force to cheer the team on during the upcoming semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
