Cuvu College’s U18 Rugby Team Defies Odds: What’s Next?

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their game, particularly in the scrums. This was shared by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu in an interview.

Despite securing a surprising 23-22 victory over the favored Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals of the Vodafone Deans Trophy, Navatu acknowledged that there is still significant room for improvement.

He described the match as a challenging contest, expressing gratitude for their win, stating, “Glory to God for this win.” He emphasized that they arrived with the intention to win and praised the players for their hard work.

Navatu expressed some confusion regarding the final score announcement, where officials mistakenly declared RKS as the winner. However, he celebrated the reversal of that decision, noting that while the victory was achieved, the team still has more work to do. He pointed out that some players are still only 17 years old, yet they were able to work effectively as a team.

He urged their dedicated fans to rally in support during the semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School scheduled for Saturday.
