The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team continues to focus on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. This insight was shared by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu yesterday.
Navatu expressed that despite Cuvu College’s narrow 23-22 victory over the Vodafone Deans Trophy favorites, Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinal, there is still potential for improvement.
Describing the match, Navatu noted it was a challenging one. He stated, “Glory to God for this win,” highlighting their determination, “We came here with the goal to win, and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”
The coach also mentioned some confusion surrounding the final score, particularly when officials initially declared RKS as the winner. “We were happy when the decision was reversed, but the job is not done yet. Some of our boys are still 17 while others are 18, but they managed to make it work,” he added.
Navatu urged their loyal supporters to come out in large numbers to cheer for the team in their upcoming semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
