The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this information after the team achieved a surprising 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, a strong contender for the Vodafone Deans Trophy.
Navatu acknowledged that there is still potential for growth in their game despite the nail-biting win. He expressed gratitude for the victory, stating, “Glory to God for this win. We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”
He also mentioned some confusion regarding the final score when officials initially declared RKS the winner. “We were happy when the decision was reversed, but the job is not done yet. Some of our boys in the team are still 17 years old while some are 18, but they managed to make it work,” Navatu said.
Looking ahead, Navatu is encouraging their loyal fans to come out in large numbers to support the team in the upcoming semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
