The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums, according to assistant coach Samisoni Navatu. In an interview, he acknowledged the need for improvement despite the team’s narrow 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, a favorite for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, in the quarterfinals.
Navatu expressed his gratitude for the win, saying, “Glory to God for this win.” He praised the team for their efforts, stating, “We came here with the goal to win and we did that.”
He also addressed the confusion surrounding the final score, where officials initially named RKS as the winner. “We were happy when the decision was reversed, but the job is not done yet. Some of our boys in the team are still 17 years old while some are 18, but they managed to make it work,” he noted.
Navatu is appealing to their loyal fans to come out in large numbers to support them in the upcoming semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
