The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team continues to focus on enhancing their performance, particularly in the scrum area. This was highlighted by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu in an interview following their narrow 23-22 victory against Ratu Kadavulevu School, who were favorites for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, in the quarterfinals.

Navatu acknowledged that there is still significant room for improvement despite this success. He described the match as a challenging contest and expressed gratitude for the victory, saying, “Glory to God for this win. We came here with the goal to win, and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”

The coach also mentioned some confusion surrounding the final score when officials initially declared RKS the winner, but expressed relief when that decision was overturned. He noted the importance of the win, especially considering that some players in the team are still 17 years old, while others are 18.

Navatu encouraged their loyal fans to come out in large numbers to support the team in their upcoming semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
