The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team continues to focus on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this insight during an interview yesterday.
Despite securing a narrow 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, who were favored to win the Vodafone Deans Trophy, Navatu acknowledged that there is still potential for improvement. He described the match as challenging and expressed gratitude, stating, “Glory to God for this win.” He highlighted the team’s commitment by saying, “We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”
Navatu mentioned confusion regarding a scoring error that initially declared RKS as the victor. However, he was relieved when the decision was overturned. He noted the age diversity within the team, stating some players are still 17 while others have turned 18, yet they managed to deliver a strong performance.
Looking ahead, Navatu is urging their dedicated fanbase to rally together to support the team in the semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School, scheduled for Saturday.
