The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. This was confirmed by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu on Wednesday.
Despite a thrilling 23-22 upset victory over Vodafone Deans Trophy favorites Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals, Navatu believes there is still potential for growth.
“It was a tough match. Glory to God for this win,” he remarked. “We came here with the aim to win, and we achieved that. I applaud the boys for their efforts.”
Navatu expressed confusion over a mistake related to the final score, where officials initially declared RKS as the winner. “We were delighted when the decision was revised, but our mission isn’t complete yet. Some players on our team are still 17 years old while others are 18, but they made it work,” he noted.
He urged the loyal fans to come out in full support during the semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
