Cuvu College’s Rugby Team Upsets Favorites: What’s Next?

The under-18 rugby team from Cuvu College is focusing on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this update yesterday, emphasizing the need for improvement even after their surprising 23-22 victory against the favored Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals of the Vodafone Deans Trophy.

Navatu described the match as a tough contest and expressed gratitude for the win. “Glory to God for this win,” he stated. “We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”

He also noted some confusion surrounding the final score, particularly when officials initially declared RKS as the winner. “We were happy when the decision was reversed, but the job is not done yet. Some of our boys in the team are still 17 years old while some are 18, but they managed to make it work,” he added.

Navatu is urging their loyal supporters to rally together and cheer for them in the upcoming semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School, scheduled for Saturday.
