Cuvu College’s Rugby Team Aims Higher After Stunning Upset!

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this with SUNsports, despite the team’s narrow 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, a top contender for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, in the quarterfinals.

“There is still room for improvement,” Navatu noted, reflecting on the intense match. He expressed gratitude, saying, “Glory to God for this win. We came here with the goal to win and we achieved that. Credit goes to the boys for a job well done.”

Navatu mentioned the confusion surrounding the final score announcement, which initially declared RKS as the winner. “We were relieved when the decision was overturned, but the job is not finished yet,” he added, highlighting that some players on the team are still 17 while others are 18, yet they managed to perform effectively.

He is urging their loyal supporters to come out in large numbers to encourage the team in their upcoming semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
