Cuvu College’s Rugby Journey: Underdog Victory and Future Challenges Ahead

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team continues to focus on enhancing their skills, particularly in scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this insight after the team’s narrow 23-22 victory over the favored Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals of the Vodafone Deans Trophy.

Despite the win, Navatu emphasized the need for improvement, describing the match as intense. “Glory to God for this win,” he stated, expressing pride in the team’s performance. “We aimed to win, and we achieved that. Credit goes to the boys for their hard work.”

Navatu also addressed a mix-up regarding the match’s final score when officials mistakenly declared RKS as the winner before reversing the decision. He acknowledged the resilience of his team, composed of players aged 17 and 18, in navigating the challenges.

The coach is now urging their loyal fans to rally in support during the upcoming semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
