The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums, according to assistant coach Samisoni Navatu. This statement came after their narrow 23-22 victory over Vodafone Deans Trophy favorites Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals.
Navatu acknowledged that there is still room for improvement despite the win, describing the match as a fierce competition. He expressed gratitude, saying, “Glory to God for this win,” and commended the players for their efforts.
The coach noted some confusion surrounding the final score when officials initially declared Ratu Kadavulevu School as the winner, but they were relieved when the decision was corrected. He mentioned that while some players are still 17, others have turned 18, they all played effectively together.
Navatu is urging their loyal supporters to come out in full force to support the team during their semifinal match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
