The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrummaging. This update was shared by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu in an interview.
Despite a thrilling 23-22 quarterfinal victory against the Vodafone Deans Trophy favorites, Ratu Kadavulevu School, Navatu expressed that there is still potential for improvement.
“It was a tough match,” he mentioned, while offering praise for their recent win. “Glory to God for this win. We came here with the intention to win, and we achieved that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”
Navatu noted some confusion regarding the final score, as officials initially declared RKS the winner. “We were relieved when the decision was overturned, but our journey isn’t finished yet. Some players are still 17 years old, while others are 18, but they made it work,” he said.
He also encouraged their loyal supporters to rally behind the team as they prepare for their semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
