Cuvu College Rugby Upsets Favorites in Dramatic Quarterfinal!

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in the scrums. This was stated by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu in an interview yesterday.

“There is still room for improvement,” he remarked, despite Cuvu College’s surprising 23-22 victory over the Vodafone Deans Trophy frontrunners, Ratu Kadavulevu School, in the quarterfinals.

Navatu described the match as a challenging battle. “Glory to God for this win,” he expressed. “We came here with the goal to win, and we achieved that. Credit goes to the boys for a job well done.”

He mentioned their surprise over the confusion surrounding the final score when officials initially declared RKS as the winner. “We were pleased when the decision was corrected, but our work is not finished yet,” he added, noting that while some players are 17, others are 18, they managed to perform well together.

Navatu is urging their devoted fans to rally and support the team in the upcoming semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
