The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focusing on improving their performance, particularly in scrums. This update comes from assistant coach Samisoni Navatu, who spoke to SUNsports regarding their recent match.
Navatu acknowledged that there is still potential for development, despite Cuvu College’s narrow 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, a team favored to win the Vodafone Deans Trophy, during the quarterfinals. He described the match as intense and expressed gratitude for the win, saying, “Glory to God for this win.”
The coach emphasized their initial confusion about the outcome when officials mistakenly announced RKS as the winner. However, he expressed relief when that decision was overturned. He noted that while some team members are still 17 years old, they successfully competed against their opponents.
Navatu is urging their dedicated supporters to come out in large numbers to cheer for the team during the semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School scheduled for Saturday.
