The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this information during an interview. Despite achieving a narrow 23-22 victory against Ratu Kadavulevu School, a top contender for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, Navatu acknowledged that there is still significant room for growth.

He described the match as a challenging experience and expressed gratitude for the unexpected win, stating, “Glory to God for this win. We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”

Navatu also mentioned some confusion regarding the final score announcement, which initially declared Ratu Kadavulevu School as the winner before being corrected. “We were happy when the decision was reversed, but the job is not done yet. Some of our boys in the team are still 17-year-olds while some are 18, but they managed to make it work,” he remarked.

He urged their passionate supporters to join in large numbers to support the team during the semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School scheduled for Saturday.
