The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared this insight with SUNsports. Despite their narrow victory of 23-22 over the heavily favored Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals, Navatu emphasized that there remains significant potential for improvement.
The match was intense, and Navatu expressed gratitude for the win, stating, “Glory to God for this win.” He highlighted the team’s dedication, saying, “We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”
Navatu noted some confusion surrounding the final score, as officials initially declared RKS the victor. However, when the decision was later corrected, he acknowledged the relief it brought, though he reminded others that their journey is not yet complete. With players aged 17 and 18, they successfully navigated the challenges of the match.
Looking ahead, Navatu is urging their loyal fans to come out in force to support the team in the upcoming semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
