The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focusing on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. This insight was shared by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu. He expressed that there is still potential for improvement despite the team achieving a narrow 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, who were considered favorites for the Vodafone Deans Trophy.
Navatu described the match as intense and attributed their success to divine support. He stated, “We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”
There was confusion regarding the final score, as the officials initially declared RKS the winner. Navatu noted their relief when the decision was overturned, but emphasized that their journey is not over. He remarked that some players are still 17 years old while others are 18, and they successfully navigated the challenges of the match.
He is urging their dedicated fans to gather in support for the upcoming semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
