Cuvu College Rallies for Glory: Can They Conquer the Semifinals?

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrummaging. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared insights on the team’s progress following their narrow 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, who were favored to win the Vodafone Deans Trophy quarterfinal.

Navatu acknowledged that while the victory was significant, there are still areas needing improvement. “There is still room for improvement,” he stated, highlighting the intense nature of the match. He expressed gratitude for the win, stating, “Glory to God for this win,” and praised the team’s determination, noting, “We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”

He also mentioned a moment of confusion regarding the match results when officials initially declared RKS as the winners, but the decision was later overturned. Navatu pointed out the young age of some players on the team, noting that they managed to perform well despite being only 17 or 18 years old.

As they prepare for the semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday, Navatu is urging their loyal fans to come out and support the team in greater numbers.
