The Port of Lautoka is lively with a packed schedule of cruise ship arrivals and departures. Recently, the Pacific Adventure, operated by P&O Cruises Australia, docked on August 19 as part of a 12-day round-trip adventure in Fiji. This 23-year-old ship is capable of carrying 3,174 passengers and features a crew of 1,100 members.
The Pacific Adventure set sail from Sydney on August 13, making a stop at Mystery Island in Vanuatu on August 17. Previously known as Dawn Princess, the ship was scheduled to reach Lautoka, proceed to Dravuni Island in Kadavu, and return to Sydney by August 25.
Built at a cost of $1 billion, the Pacific Adventure includes advanced features like the Wärtsilä-Sulzer engine, which offers a power output of 63.4 MW (85,021 hp). According to Cruise Mapper, the vessel was navigating the South Pacific Ocean towards Lautoka with coordinates of 17.60497 S / 177.43772 E.
Following its Fiji itinerary, the Pacific Adventure will embark on a nine-day Barrier Reef Discovery cruise, departing Sydney at 4 PM on August 25. The ship’s itinerary includes stops in Queensland before continuing to Cairns, and it will also make berthing stops at Willis and Moreton Islands before returning to Sydney on September 3.
