This Friday, the Miss Cakaudrove Youth pageant will culminate at Narain Park in Savusavu, where the new titleholder will be awarded a stunning crown made from 59 pearls. According to Aubrey Whippy, the coordinator of the Cakaudrove Multi-Ethnic Youth and Sports Festival, 14 contestants representing 12 different districts, including participants from Rabi Island and Kailoma, are competing for both the Miss Cakaudrove Youth and Miss Charity titles.
The festivities will kick off today with an opening march starting at 10 am, beginning from the Savusavu Court House and leading to Narain Park. On Friday, the closing ceremony will commence at 3 pm, with the crowning of Miss Cakaudrove Youth and Miss Charity taking place at 7 pm, honored by the presence of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka as the chief guest.
Mr. Whippy expressed gratitude to J Hunter Pearls for crafting the exquisite crown and to Shane Bower for sponsoring the crown for the Miss Charity title. He emphasized that the event promises a full day and night of entertainment across four days, with proceeds intended to support youth development initiatives in Cakaudrove. Entry to the park will be free, marking this as the inaugural event organized by the Cakaudrove Youth Provincial Council.
